P.S.  I am also looking for crew memebers.  Shoot me a note if interested.
I had my first 4:00am morning on Tuesday for swim practice.  I forgot how much it stinks to get up in the dark, walk through the cold, dark, and rain, only to jump into an ice cold pool!  MMmmm  Good times.  All that being said, I was happy with my second swim practice......   Endurance was lacking but form was still pretty descent.  I tried to run that night in the cold while in AR.  ...was looking to get in 5, but the foot put a hold on everything thing at 4.  BUT......it does seem to be feeling better!  So, back in the ice it goes....lol

To bring us current.....   Tonight I went out for a brisk three miles.  Not long, but no pain!!!  So, I plan to go easy for another week or so then start to ease off the brakes.

Thought for the day.....
Always concentrate on where you want to be.......not where you are afraid you'll end up.

Good Weekend!  I am still having foot problems that may result in a trip to the doctor in the coming week. However, still fit in a ride with pleasant weather on Sat.  followed up with a run in Percy on Sun.
I was hoping to swim today as well......but a swim meet had the pool closed.  Will be on the road all next week........will be challanging to keep up the training, but will put in a solid effort.

COLD NIGHT!!  But it was at least not raining......   So, Todd and I took off on my first outdoor run injured foot and all.  Despite the cold and the limp it was a good stretch of the legs!  First time out of the gate and got in a solid 4 miles on 10:00's.  ...not speedy, but a good start all the same.

As always, after the run jumped in the icebath for the foot.  It has made significnat improvements toward my healing and expect it to be a non issue in a week.  However, I do understand that ice baths "SUCK".......
But ask anyone that has done any real training and they will confirm it is without question a lifesaver.

10-20 minutes of pain = Hours of pain free running/cycling    A solid Trade!

I also think I may start a thought of the day......   quotes and inside jokes that only a few may understand, but I will try to throw in some useful tidbits as well.

For Todd.....
"Well....we are done.  Now we just have to go home."

.......RAINING ALL DAY!  Plus, dealing with traveling and training.  I was hoping to ride a stationary bike at the hotel due to the foot injury, but alas.... only a treadmill an elliptical were to be had.  Did I mention.....I HATE ellipticals.  So, I sucked it up and managed a pretty descent 4 miles.  Following, I iced down the foot and seem to be pretty good to go.  Maybe I can find a bike tomorrow.  NO diet yet......figured I would give myself to the first of December.  Then I have 2 months to shed 20 pounds to get into proper training weight.

I made the effort Thanksgiving morning to officially begin the run portion of my training with the Boulevard Bolt......However, due to a previous injury, made it a whopping 200 yards into the race and had to quit.  I have since been on a regime of Advil, Ice and rest, and hoping for a fast recovery.

Following the setback on Thursday, I started back to swim tonite.  It was great to see a lot of the old faces and performed better than expected after having been out of the pool for 2 years.  To celebrate......I took the final step of commitment to the race and shaved the legs!  NO TURNING BACK NOW!

Traveling is going to be an ongoing concern, but I feel with good dicipline and scheduling, can make it all work.  I have till Feb. 1 to be able to swim a few miles, run 1.5 hours at pace, and comfotably ride for 3 hours at pace. Following, the structered written plan from my coach, Richard Baker, will take over as the final game plan to raceday.
